The Yale Hindu Life Program and Hindu Students Organization invite you to the 2024 Yale Diwali Puja
Free and open to the Yale Community only - bring your Yale ID
We will celebrate the Hindu Festival of Lights with a puja to Maha Lakshmi, the Hindu Goddess of wealth and well-being. A catered vegetarian/vegan Indian dinner follows the puja.
Registration is required for both the worship service and dinner. Please read this before you register!
Register for the correct category
- Yale College category is only for Yale undergraduates
- G&P, Postdocs, staff, faculty, alumnae & administration = everyone else
- Tickets cannot be transferred from one category to another so if they are in the wrong category they will be deleted and you will need to re-register correctly. We check this.
- Tickets often go quickly, however there are waiting lists and cancellations. In the past most people on the waiting list were able to attend so please sign up on a waiting list and keep an eye on your inbox as we get closer to the day. Also - we will livestream the puja.

Volunteer!
Diwali can only happen with your help! We need volunteers to help…
- Decorate the dining tables
- String a rose garland for our Lakshmi murti
- Create a gorgeous floral rangoli in the lobby
- Guide guests in the hall
- Clean up and roll carts back to the Chaplain’s Office. Helping roll carts = post Diwali puja ice cream! Who doesn’t want ice cream after delicious Indian food?!
Diwali will be livestreamed!
Alumnae, family, friends and Hindu Life members: if you cannot join us in person then join us online! Thanks in part to SOAR alumnae funding we are livestreaming the puja.
We will post a livestream link for Diwali puja on the Hindu Life website calendar.
We suggest that you log in by 6:00 PM.
